July Review: Friends With Benefits

I know this is not really alphabetically in order as I imagined when I first started doing this project (which is actually really lots of fun, but I really don't have enough time because of the finals and everything), but I watched just yesterday and I wanted to do this as quick as possible to still have the whole idea of what I wanted to write about settled in my mind. Anyway, I plan on doing lots and lots of movie reviews in the next couple of months, mostly because there will be no school to hold me back (and yes, I am aware it should be the other way around)! I just wanted to do this first as the whole impression of the movie is still very firmly settled in my mind. Again, I've watched this movie over three times and I did have this stage where I simply hated the movie, but then I was a bit bored and it was still among top movies on my "humorous/romance comedy movies" and so I chose to watch it again. For the fourth time. But, as I said, it is on the top of my li...

H Is For The Holiday

It is truly one of my favorite movies and not only because there's Kate Winslet and Jude Law in it and because Cameron Diaz once for a change doesn't play a stupid blonde, but also because it shows a broader picture of what life's truly about. Sure, it consist of some great actors/actresses indeed, but what attracts me the most with this movie and what makes this whole story so gripping is that four strangers have come in each other's lives at such brilliant coincidence I might even start believing in them. I'm truly not the right address for cheesy American love-comedies because I've seen more than enough of it. But this really touched my heart in a way I didn't know it could be. I watched this movie probably like two or three times, yet, to be honest, I never get tired of it, and I've also watched it a long time ago and even then I've realized there's something special about it. It can still make me feel things about life I've never felt be...

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I don't even know where to begin. Oh wait, I do. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME. I'm not really the type for the sci-fi movies or maybe Marvel is the only exception, but this one... This one simply blew my mind away. I never even expected to experience such thing as this movie was. First, I think I need to start off by saying how witty and clever Marvel was once again. I love Thor movies and also the Spiderman , but Captain America sequel   simply outdid them all. It has officially become my favorite movie of them all. I never thought I'd say that about an fictional action movie, but here we go. Second of, I truly think there's a lot more to be discovered about this movie as well. It hides so much potential and it was so strained and exciting the whole time. I just want to see it over and over again. I don't regret anything. The first movie didn't impress me that much, to be honest. I did watch it two or three times (which is my thing with movies and TV shows), but ...

G Is For April: The Great Gatsby

I admit, I haven't read the book, yet I loved the movie. One day I wish to read the book as well, because it's simply a classic. But for now, let's discuss the movie first. I'm known for my eternal love of the era of cigarette holders, curly hair, sparkly dresses and red lips. The 1920's, of course! How could one not love this particular period? It was full of glamour, parties, gentlemen and awesome cars. What I seem to love so much about this era is also their way of behavior. The gestures, greetings, traditions and compliments. I'd love to experience just one day in the shape of a wealthy girl and taste the life back then. Fantasies like that really make you want to turn back time, you know? But the most magical thing to me that was also included in this movie is their attitude, their perception and gestures, as I mentioned before. Maybe the movie itself was a bit extravagant and an overdo, but all in all it was a good and unique interpretation. The life bac...

F Review: The First Time

Before we deepen into the subject, I'd like to say I do realize I only seem to be reviewing perfect and totally cliche teenage movies, but those are what I watch the most. Maybe not quite the thing to be proud of, but I like to review them, because I like to deepen into the story, even if sometimes it wasn't meant to be completely understood or analyzed. I like to rest my head from this reality here and focus on somebody else's. Try to see the world through their eyes, because I always seem to take something from that. I learn things and start to appreciate what I have. That might sound a bit cheesy, but that's just the way it is. Everybody has something they're addicted to, to put their souls at ease from time to time. It helps. Now, let's get on with it, shall we? I like the plot, though at first it did seem a bit preposterous and unoriginal. But I gave it a chance. I knew the actors, the trailer seemed alright and it was late at night and I had nothing to d...
