Subject: Bullying

Hey guys, I hope you're having a great time and starting new year with some new hope, love and courage. If not; I'm always here for you, don't forget that :)
Anyway, this months's subject is something worth discussing about, something that needs to be solved. Because in today's world this sort of violence is getting more and more common in high schools all around the world, not only in USA or big countries like that; it's happening everywhere. I think a lot of people is misunderstanding the situation in high schools; they think bullying is sort of state that will pass or just a bad day for those who are bullying someone. They think it's something that will leave no consequences and it's not worth of the time to think about it or deal with it. But it won't pass. Unless someone, who has high influence, does something to stop this outrageous behaviour of too many teens.

So, you probably have heard of a site called Tumblr. For those who haven't: Tumblr is a site, where you have your own blog and reblog pictures, quotes, texts, videos... You may think it's lame, but it's pretty cool actually. It's just... The problem is, many teenagers take those things way more seriously that it was meant to be in the first place.
Everyday there are signs of anti-bullying warnings, alerts and so on. I think that's a really great idea, since millions and millions of world's teens has an account on that side. It encourages young people to talk about it; step out and speak about it. Cause many victims are afraid to say anything. Most likely because the kids who are bullying ban the victims to tell anyone cause they'll only get beat up again or just mocked. Many people think it's nothing, like it's just a laugh, you know. But in reality those kids who are being bullied are crying at home, cutting, thinking of dying... And you know what? All of those things has happened already in too many countries to too many teens. Teens full of life, options, choices, talents, future... But it's all thrown away just because people don't care. Enough. You see, I know people who do care and are trying their best to show bullying is not something that will pass and that should be neglected. Something has to be done. And by awarening the public in any way (blogging, classes, stand ups, speeches, teenage sites...) of how serious the condition is, I think we can make it. But it needs to be spread around.
So, on Tumblr there are many posts and pictures with texts that are just outrageous; they're in a way like that: "Only skinny girls are pretty girls" and "Being yourself isn't good enough". Mostly those posts aren't meant to be insulting, mean or disturbing, but many teens take it the wrong way. In a way they need to be perfect to suit into this world. And that's what's destroying young people, us. Posts like this, saying something really out of context even though you/we might be joking... You can't joke about those things when you never know who's going to take it so seriously. When you don't know how far they will go, just to fit this description. When you could lead someone to death.
Of course, again, those people who are making these posts or saying those stuff, don't usually think about what will happen next. They only think about how many likes or compliments they'll get by doing those kind of stuff. They simply just don't think about the consequences.

And there's something really wrong and, I don't know how to say this, popular in this time, connected to bullying. Something that comes out from being bullied. Cutting.
I think that's also a subject NEEDED to be discussed about.

First of all; I must say (and before you judge or anything, I've been talking to therapists) CUTTING IS NOT A SIGN OF DEPRESSION. It's some kind of relief or punishing yourself because you don't deserve happiness, only suffering. Because you feel unworthy of love or feeling unloved. And lots of reasons of cutting are from being bullied. But not all of them, of course. Second of all; is it just me, or is cutting becoming some kind of new trend or something? Because I've seen and see every day on Tumblr cutting themselves, take some pictures and put it on internet. I mean, this is certainly not from depression or any kind of sadness. It's craving for attention, I'm sorry if anyone's offended somehow, but it's true. Those girls don't seem to have any clue of how serious cutting is and think it's alright to just cut yourself, like it's healthy or normal. It's not.
And this is when we come to third part; the problem is, now you never know who's "pretending" and who's really suffering from any kind of sadness. It's really disgusting how people think it's okay to make fun of those things. Those people are even sick! I mean, instead of finding help to those who really need it, they go, cut some and then put it online. I'm sorry, but this is nothing but looking for attention. Do you know what real signs of depression are? If I'd tell those people what real signs are, they finally found out that depression is not being sad two days in a row. It's being empty inside. But I mean really empty. When you have no light left inside of you. No hope. And symptoms are not showing off, but being on your own. All the time. For months, years... Until there's nothing left to live for. That's what they think! Every human being has a secret talent, a secret potential in some thing that haven't or couldn't discover because they gave up. And I'm not saying depression is something easy. Is freaking tough as hell. And you don't just start being happy. You need proffesional help; people who are really there for you and know what to do. Because like you don't say to a person who has asthma: Just breathe! Or a person who has cancer: Just stop growing cancerous cells. It's not something that happens over night. It requires certain treatment. And it's sad that most people don't care and realise that.

The Best Things In Life Are Free: True Or False?

We are constantly surrounded by statements like: "The best things come free." and all that positive thinking along. But is it really true? I mean, I get it that when people say that they mostly mean things like love, joy and friends. These things do, however, come free, but by free it's mostly considered as not including money. For all these things that I counted, true dedication and believing yourself are present and these kind of things are what truly makes a person rich. Not money, not some kick-ass career (that may have influenced on your inner self, though) or super yachts. It's something that comes from within and that really takes effort and time to possess. And to get there, it actually takes a whole different kind of price for what you really want. It demands hard work that is often not quite what rich people own. There is a beautiful quote by Patrick Meagher: "Some people are so poor all they have is money." And that is, sadly, often correct. Peopl...

Movie Review: The Constant Gardener

Long time no see! Yup, I am back or rather - I'll try and keep posting regularly as much as time will let me. Things have been a mess lately and it has been hard keeping up with life's pace itself, let alone finding time to write. But, now I have something juicy to write about, too. Since I'm completely done with all those cheesy romantic comedies, I've decided to do write a review on this one. I've decided to watch this movie simply because of two reasons: 1.) Ralph Fiennes (needless to say why, though I shall explain it to you with great enthusiasm: he is one of my favorite and one of the best actors there ever lived in my humble opinion) 2.) It's not a cheesy romantic comedy (like I've said before, I am finished with those). And I loved the movie for multiple reasons which you will get to know with in the next couple of paragraphs. I think I've always loved that kind of movies, but I end up watching the boring ones with hopeless romantic teenagers i...

American Beauty

There are only few things in this world that are able to truly leave me speechless, astounded, and numb. I tend to believe I have seen a lot of things that have touched me right to the depths of my soul, making me feel like there is so much more life behind ordinary things. And those occassions are the reason we stay alive. May it be a soft breeze caressing your skin on a surprisingly warm March day that reminds you of the hidden wonders of nature, a sentimental gesture shared between a mother and a child that demonstrates the meaning of humanity and unconditional love or simply a flash of a moment in an ordinary day that keeps you sane and secured, knowing there is some magic hidden in these ordinary, seemingly unnoteworthy moments that we need to treasure and remember forever, and that even though we are aware of this magic, we could never reach it. And that is the beauty of it. However, when I saw this movie it truly shook me, in a good way. I also recently watched Good Will Hunti...
