We live in a society where being true to yourself isn't as magical as it used to be. Or respected. Some people think the point of this world is to fit in. But that's misguided. The point of this world is to find one's self. I could go on until tomorrow about what the point of our lives actually is, but I would like to emphasize one problem that occurs when a person wants to pursue their dreams. Like on any mission or task, problems appear on the way. There's no getting around that. There's no getting around the obstacles on the way that want to prevent you from going your own way. These obstacles can remain in their inanimate form or they can also appear as real human beings, literally standing in the way on the path to your dreams. But you know what? Okay, I lied. Maybe it does have something in common with movies, but in an entirely different meaning than the movies I've written about before. It's something so magical, magnifying and unrepeatable it makes me even more sure I was born in a wrong generation. I was extremely bored the other day so I decided to go downstairs to check up on my family. They seem like nice people. Just kidding, I'm not that anti-social (yet). I do come downstairs once or twice a day (read: sarcasm). Anyway, since my boredom couldn't be washed away by all the fascinating services my computer offers, I decided to turn on TV on a random channel. It happened to be set right on the MTV channel and guess what was on the listing? You guessed correctly - the Plain Jane. I watched that show two or three times before and I loved it because Louise Roe actually put some confidence in that girls' life and she finally showed them that being a woman is a gift. But it's probably been like one year or one year and a half since I last watched the show. My present opinion about the show? Totally sucks. This was one of the most intense, emotional and dramatic movies I've ever watched. And trust me - I watched A LOT of movies. The first thing that I have to especially emphasize here is what a great story line this movie has. It may seem like a cliche or a subject that really has nothing to do with life, but the matter of fact it does have a lot to do with life and what we experience in it. In the beginning, the story is focused on this young girl Natalie that is successful as in the school field as the tennis court. She is like one of those perfect girls that you're so jealous and envious of because they seem to have they life so organized. But the best thing in this movie is that it shows how you never know what someone has to go through, what battle they are fighting. The only thing we see is the surface and what people let us see. There are many good books focused on this subject and I think that it's very important that we show the world what emotional intelligence is and why it's so important. We face all sorts of prejudices and discrimination based on what "smart" should sound and look like every day. I think it's sad when people don't even give each other a chance to get to know each other, to see that it's much more to a person than just what's on the outside. It's sad that just a piece of paper can determine your future until you die, because so many people hold that special gift inside of them, but can't express it. Why? Because other people are too busy filling us up with other, completely irrelevant bullshit. And I get it: there's nothing we can do about it. It's a cruel, unfair world and no one gets out of it alive. But what I'm saying is that we turn away so many potential geniuses because we're blinded by this idea of some form of brilliance. ...

Another review that I loved to write. Movies that have their plot set in the medieval time are also my all time favorite and I love watching movies about how life was back then. How women dressed, how men courted. Oh, how they danced. I wish I lived in the different century. Not to escape my problems, which I probably wouldn't because I'm like a magnet for trouble (and certainly not  in the good way), but to just taste a different way of life. Like a totally other lifestyle. And this movie showed everything I adore about those movies: real beauty, courting, dancing, fashion and love. What truly enchants me in these kind of movies is the credibility of the people, pluck and gestures that have long disappeared to be still carried out today. It was something magical about those times and I would give anything to get a better look or taste to it itself. All I can say is that my point of view on high school and general opinion of public school education has changed drastically. And maybe not so much in a bad nor good way. It just changed. As they say, you gotta live before you learn. And I definitely lived and made a whole lot mistakes (especially on exams) before I learned. Not that I am not a hard-worker (which I definitely am), but like each first-year student says towards the end of their first summer in high-school: I wish I worked harder. And I think sophomore year is really the chance to make up for the past mistakes you've made because your head was on an entirely different planet like the whole year. Not blaming anyone else for that, of course, but I can say that I mostly learn after I've screwed up pretty bad. I know that's nothing unusual for a person, especially for one in her teens, but still, I am aware that at times I acted a bit immature and definitely not like a person who wants to raise her GPA.
