There are only few things in this world that are able to truly leave me speechless, astounded, and numb. I tend to believe I have seen a lot of things that have touched me right to the depths of my soul, making me feel like there is so much more life behind ordinary things. And those occassions are the reason we stay alive. May it be a soft breeze caressing your skin on a surprisingly warm March day that reminds you of the hidden wonders of nature, a sentimental gesture shared between a mother and a child that demonstrates the meaning of humanity and unconditional love or simply a flash of a moment in an ordinary day that keeps you sane and secured, knowing there is some magic hidden in these ordinary, seemingly unnoteworthy moments that we need to treasure and remember forever, and that even though we are aware of this magic, we could never reach it. I am aware that it's been a rather long time since I last wrote, but I am also sure I can make it up this time. There are truly so many subjects and socially current topics that I could write about (and in my free time, I promise you to get on that) but today I've decided for probably the most debatable one currently in the atmosphere. All of our beliefs, values, expectations, and principals are based on what we gather in our infancy. As hard or as ridiculous as it may be to accept that, it is a cold-blooded fact. As children we are exposed to a certain environment or circumstances in which we are raised. These particular circumstances are the source of most of our future qualities: our demeanour, aspects, and priorities. Long time no see! Yup, I am back or rather - I'll try and keep posting regularly as much as time will let me. Things have been a mess lately and it has been hard keeping up with life's pace itself, let alone finding time to write. But, now I have something juicy to write about, too. Since I'm completely done with all those cheesy romantic comedies, I've decided to do write a review on this one. I've decided to watch this movie simply because of two reasons: 1.) Ralph Fiennes (needless to say why, though I shall explain it to you with great enthusiasm: he is one of my favorite and one of the best actors there ever lived in my humble opinion) 2.) We live in a society where being true to yourself isn't as magical as it used to be. Or respected. Some people think the point of this world is to fit in. But that's misguided. The point of this world is to find one's self. I could go on until tomorrow about what the point of our lives actually is, but I would like to emphasize one problem that occurs when a person wants to pursue their dreams. Like on any mission or task, problems appear on the way. There's no getting around that. There's no getting around the obstacles on the way that want to prevent you from going your own way. These obstacles can remain in their inanimate form or they can also appear as real human beings, literally standing in the way on the path to your dreams. But you know what? Okay, I lied. Maybe it does have something in common with movies, but in an entirely different meaning than the movies I've written about before. It's something so magical, magnifying and unrepeatable it makes me even more sure I was born in a wrong generation. I was extremely bored the other day so I decided to go downstairs to check up on my family. They seem like nice people. Just kidding, I'm not that anti-social (yet). I do come downstairs once or twice a day (read: sarcasm). Anyway, since my boredom couldn't be washed away by all the fascinating services my computer offers, I decided to turn on TV on a random channel. It happened to be set right on the MTV channel and guess what was on the listing? You guessed correctly - the Plain Jane. I watched that show two or three times before and I loved it because Louise Roe actually put some confidence in that girls' life and she finally showed them that being a woman is a gift. But it's probably been like one year or one year and a half since I last watched the show. My present opinion about the show? Totally sucks. This was one of the most intense, emotional and dramatic movies I've ever watched. And trust me - I watched A LOT of movies. The first thing that I have to especially emphasize here is what a great story line this movie has. It may seem like a cliche or a subject that really has nothing to do with life, but the matter of fact it does have a lot to do with life and what we experience in it. In the beginning, the story is focused on this young girl Natalie that is successful as in the school field as the tennis court. She is like one of those perfect girls that you're so jealous and envious of because they seem to have they life so organized. But the best thing in this movie is that it shows how you never know what someone has to go through, what battle they are fighting. The only thing we see is the surface and what people let us see.
